Song number 9 on 'When Violent Hot Pitch Words Hurt' is 'Tired Old Eyes'.

Here's the picture @AnnieDressner took for it. I played it last night at @ccfest @thehugandpint and there was a lullaby singalong in the room, if such a thing is possible; it was gorgeous.

It was the brilliant @kerrydevinemusic who made me realise the power of this song. It is a sleepy love-letter to one of my children - a sort of hybrid amalgam of them both, I think. There's an animated video on my Youtube channel if you fancy a rummage.

Track 7 on 'When Violent Hot Pitch Words Hurt' isn't a song at all, it's a poem. Its real name is '2 October 2020' - all my poems have the date of composition as their title - and it explores feelings of abject failure, the sorrows of getting it wrong. Here is the photo @anniedressner took for track 4, 'Any Other Way'. My headstand took several years to get to at the Sivananda Centre Putney. In the video I made for this song on 'Pivot', I did some yoga but also dressed up as an astronaut and a nun. It's the ultimate homage to Julia Cameron's 'imaginary lives' exercise, one of my favourite writing exercises in 'The Artist's Way'.
